Welcome to 2013

Gee, here we are into February already. Christmas feels like a blur ... and such a long time ago.

We spent Christmas and new year with family in Germany and some major impressions include - family times are vitally important, the Europeans do things differently, it was not as cold as anticipated (they were going through a warm spell, it's colder now!), it's good to travel, but while it offers a break, it's not a rest - and it's good to be home.

With home though, comes work, and getting back into it is always an interesting process.  It's easy to have grand ideas about goals, proactivity and productivity when on holiday, but there's a risk of in-tray, and these days, inbox clutter quickly swamping the big picture.  Last year I picked up David Allen's “getting things done” book and I'm determined to do better this year.  As a personal management tool it looks useful to help keep me “on track”.

So, all the best for the forthcoming year - may it serve you well.
